My Ten Friends- The Sparkly Cycle of Summer Collection

-This collection was sent for review
Hey Everyone.. Hope you're having a great Tuesday!!  I have an amazing collection from My Ten Friends to share with you today.  This collection is called: "The Sparkly Cycle of Summer Collection" and it contains three gorgeous glitters..

Photo courtesy of My Ten Friends
Solar Dragon:

"Solar Dragon represents the heat of the summer afternoon...based on a NASA photo of a super hot "dragon tail" (plasma) erupting from the sun's surface."  Solar Dragon is my favorite of these three!!  I love the burnt orange base filled with golden holographic glitters that change from yellow, pink and green!  This polish is so amazing and so is the formula!!  I used two coats of Solar Dragon followed by top coat in the above three pics....sooo gorgeous!!

Space Opera:

"Space Opera represents the glorious setting of the sun... inspired by a photo of sunset on a San Diego beach."  Space Opera has a pretty sheer lilac base filled with pink, white, purple and holo hexes. I really love how the base of each of these polishes has a deep color, but each base is still transparent enough to allow the glitters to pop through.  This is two coats of Space Opera followed by top coat.

Starry Night:

"Starry Night represents dreamy summery nights... inspired by the famous Van Gogh painting "The Starry Night."  The base of this polish is such an amazing color of blue ...AND it does NOT stain!! Blues this rich always seem to stain, but not Starry Night!  This polish represents Van Gogh's painting perfectly, I think.  I love it!!  Once again, two coats followed by top coat.

**I predicted great things from My Ten Friends when I first discovered this brand months ago, and I'm so glad I was right in my prediction!  This brand is definitely one of my favorite indie brands!  Kudos to My Ten Friends and to this beautiful new summer collection!!

Mentality- The Restock Madness Collection

-These polishes were sent for review
Happy Sunday and Happy Father's Day!!!  Today I have more polishes from Mentality to share with you..  These three are from their collection called "The Restock Madness Collection."  They're all dense glitters in a fine jelly base...

Cart Jacked:

Cart Jacked has a pink base with silver, pink, and yellow-orange microglitter and lilac hex glitter.  Each of these polishes has tons of glitter, but the color combos are all gorgeous and the formula is amazing.  Pictured above is two coats of Cart Jacked followed by top coat.

Oversold:

Oversold has a light blue jelly base with red & silver microglitter and larger sea green glitter.  This one would be great for a "patriotic mani."  Again, I used two coats and a generous coat of top coat. The polishes can be worn without top coat if you like a slightly textured finish.  Awesome formula with Oversold too!!

Impulse Buy:

Impulse Buy has a sheer purple base with red-orange, purple & silver mircoglitter and larger aqua glitter.  All the color combos in each of these polishes are pretty awesome, Impulse Buy included.  I really had fun swatching these because it's fun to see how the colors transfer to the nails!!  Pictured above is two coats of Impulse Buy followed by top coat.

**I'll be back soon with four more colors from The Restock Madness Collection.  I just noticed Mentality posted some cool new matte colors... they're always coming up with brilliant ideas!! :)**

3D Nail Art with Flowers and Bows from Born Pretty

--Bow and flower sequins were provided for review
Hey Everyone!  Hope  you're all having a great Thursday!!  Today I have some cute bow & flower 3D sequins from Born Pretty to share with you... These are really easy to use and they're so cute..

Flowers over Essie Full Steam Ahead:

I used two coats of Essie Full Steam Ahead as the base color for the flowers.  I then added a generous coat of top coat and carefully placed each flower (I used tweezers for better placement) close to my cuticle.  The top coat acts as an adhesive, but nail glue probably would have worked better.

Bows over OPI My Very First Knockwurst:

The bows are a bit too big for my nails, but they're cute.  I like this comb of colors.. I forgot how amazing OPI My Very First Knockwurst is!!!  Gah!!

These manis are cute.  They only lasted a few hours on me because I didn't use glue.  I wouldn't expect them to last more than a day even with the glue because they get knocked around a lot (with me anyway lol).  They're so inexpensive, though... I think they're worth trying.  You'll definitely get numerous comments on your fun mani!!

**You can purchase a HUGE assortment of these (and other colors) here on Born Pretty.  Born Pretty carries tons of fun nail art items and if you used my code ZR5X31 at checkout, you'll receive 10% off!!!

Simple Nail Art with NOPI Neon Mini Kits

-These sets were sent for review
Nicole by OPI launches its first neon nail lacquer with two limited edition mini kits. Scandalous! Neons includes vivid shades of blue, purple and pink while the Notorious! Neons includes vibrant shades of green, fuchsia and orange.

I chose to create a "Splatter Mani" with the Notorious! Neons.  I love how random splatters turn out.. they're so much fun!!  I had zero sun the day I shot this mani, so all these pics are in the light box.. ( I like shooting in natural light MUCH more, but no luck that day)

The Scandalous! Set is my favorite of the two!  I love the neon pink, blue, and purple together!!  I did a simple dot-icure with these... so cute!!

Nicole by OPI formulas are long-lasting, fast-drying, and salon-quality.   Scandalous! Neons and Notorious! Neons mini packs will be available in stores beginning May 2013 for $10 each at retailers including Meijer, CVS, Duane Reade, H-E-B, Kroger, and ShopKo.

Four More From Aphrodite Lacquers

-These polishes were sent for review
Happy Friday Everyone!!  I have some gorgeous indies to show you today!  They're all pinks!!  Yay!!  Aphrodite Lacquers  has two new collections right now.. one is called "Pink is the New Black" and the other is "Demure's Little Sisters".  The first three colors I'm posting are from "Pink is the New Black", and the last is from "Demure's Little Sisters."

Contrary:

Contrary has violet & pink shimmer and black, white and hot pink glitters in various shapes and sizes all in a clear base.  I layered two coats of Contrary over Zoya Dove followed by top coat.. I love this combo!!

Mellow:

Mellow is such a pretty baby pink crelly with light pink flower glitter, hot pink glitter, and black and white hex glitter.  I used three coats of Mellow in the above picks.  I did have to "fish" a bit for the flower glitter, but nothing too bad.  Be sure to allow each coat to dry before applying the next.. this holds true for all "crellies."

Flirty:

Flirty
has a bright, bold shimmery pink base packed with pink, white, black and holo glitters.  I just LOVE the base color of this polish and the holo glitters really shine through!  Pictured above is three coats of Flirty.

Bashful:

Bashful is my favorite of the four polishes I'm sharing today!! It contains pink and white hex glitter with beautiful pink and silver dense shimmer in a clear base.  I love Bashful because it's so versatile!  You can layer it over just about any color.  I chose to layer one generous coat over Lex Cosmetics Sassy Pants (which is my FAVORITE hot pink creme!).  I love this combo!!

OPI Couture de Minnie Collection

-This collection was sent for review
Happy Tuesday Everyone!  I have the day off today and I wanted to get this post up before I go outside and finish planting flowers in my flower gardens.  I'm really excited about this collection... I'm a HUGE pink and red lover and OPI's Couture de Minnie is packed full of gorgeous pinks and reds!!

“Last summer, OPI created a ‘Vintage Minnie Mouse’ line. Women around the world fell in love with the fun and playful shades evocative of Minnie’s traditional look,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “This year, OPI is exploring a different side of Minnie Mouse. The Couture de Minnie collection draws inspiration from Minnie’s iconic style and incorporates trends most recently seen on the runways, from standout shades to fun textural elements.”

Chic from Ears to Tail:

Chic from Ears to Tail is a really pretty "bubble gum pink" with a very subtle shimmer. I really love this shade of pink!! The formula was a bit thin so I used three coats in the above pics.

Minnie Style over Chic from Ears to Tail:

Minnie Style contains white and red hex glitter in a clear base. This glitter has an awesome formula and the glitters lay completely flat on the nail. I'll wear this over a gray base when football season arrives in honor of The Ohio State Buckeyes! ;) Pictured above is one generous coat followed by top coat.

Magazine Cover Mouse:

Magazine Cover Mouse is the only Liquid Sand Polish from this collection and it's such a pretty shade of red.. I was hoping for a red Liquid Sand and OPI delivered with this one!! Pictured above is two coats of Magazine Cover Mouse.

A Definite Moust-Have:

A Definite Moust-Have is a shimmery fuchsia that leans strongly toward red. This one also has a great formula. I only used two coats in the above pics.

Innie Minnie Mightie Bow:

I love Innie Minnie Mightie Bow!!! It's a classic cool-toned red with subtle pink shimmer. This shade of red is my favorite and the added shimmer makes it unique. I used two coats of Innie Minnie Mightie Bow (how cute is that name??!!)

This limited edition promotion will be available beginning June 2013 at professional salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, jcp Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, ULTA and ulta.com for $9.00 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each nail lacquer.
